Leading holiday airline Thomas Cook is boosting its October
half-term programme with a series of flights from Glasgow Prestwick
Airport.
Flights to favourite hotspots in Majorca, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote
and Tenerife have been arranged during the October school break to
help cope with demand from families for a last dash for the sun
before winter.
The Thomas Cook programme will be even bigger thanks to the
additional flights from Prestwick, and the airport could be set to
welcome more than 1,000 additional passengers.
Mark Rodwell, Chief Executive of Glasgow Prestwick Airport, said:
“We look forward to welcoming Thomas Cook and we are confident they
will be impressed with the high quality of service we provide to our
passengers and partners.
“These flights coincide with one of the last opportunities of the
summer season for many Scottish families to fly abroad in search of
sunshine, and we believe they will be a great success.
“We will be working closely with Thomas Cook in the coming months to
ensure that everything is in place for October, and we are confident
this will prove to be a successful partnership.”
Ian Smith, Director of Operations for Thomas Cook added: “We hope
this will be a valuable addition to our Scottish programme during
such a busy period, giving families the choice of two airports. We
are very much looking forward to working with Prestwick.”
Lanzarote departs on October 11, with two departures for Tenerife on
October 12. Airbus A320 aircraft with a capacity of 180 seats will
operate on these routes.
Larger 235-seater Boeing 757-200 aircraft will fly to Palma and Gran
Canaria on October 13.

This presumably is the replacement for the school holiday program |
provided by CT2 holidays and normally LTE ,the former having gone bust. |
