Most of these from Edinburgh, Scotland's top tourist/business/banking
centre,second only in the UK
to London. Recent winner of UK's best quality of life city poll.
Not a lot of folk know that the Edinburgh Fringe festival attracted more
visitors than the Manchester
Commonwealth games.

There are more affluent EZY Captains based at GLA than there are at

Pity that's not where it's all happening.
In recent figures released by VisitScotland, Edinburgh has the three
most popular paid visitor
attractions in Scotland - Edinburgh Castle leads the list, the Zoo and
Edinburgh Bus Tours are in
3rd place. Edinburgh Bus Tours carried a staggering 460,000 passengers
last year and was
ahead of the Glasgow Science Centre and Stirling Castle in popularity.
Both Our Dynamic Earth
and the Royal Yacht Britannia also made it into the top 10.
Lothian Buses are introducing a further five new state of the art double
deck coaches on to the popular
Airlink service. These Scania vehicles, complete with leather seats and
extra luggage space, will
complement the development of the airport forecourt and the new bus
information and departure point
outside the terminal building. Edinburgh Airport has also recently
announced that 20% of flyers to and
from Edinburgh use public transport, which is the highest in the UK.
I think you will find that Edinburgh Airport - currently Scotland's
busiest airport for 6 winter months,
is about to take the full year busiest Scottish title.
Do we have to play your silly game or can we get on with
alt.airports.uk.humberside.?
Let's remind folk of your 'record' in alt.airports.uk.edinburgh?
Where's Blimpie? Don't you mean Deejay? Who cares...? Life is pleasant
without him. Perhaps we can actually have real debates on this group without
his kind of malicious bitter tabloid style rantings and personal attacks.
Although I sometimes disagree with you, John Dundas and Joe, I respect for
you and your opinions and for the way that you express yourselves. I have NO
respect for Mr. Jaffray as a result of his antics on this group. There were
times I actually found myself cheering on EDI and being anti-GLA purely as
an emotional response to him. This is NOT what I really feel as, although I
live in Edinburgh, I am from Glasgow and am proud of it.
Deejay/Blimpie/Jaffray does GLA no favours by his bitter personal attacks on
Joe and anyone who dares to agree with him, and those people who support GLA
would do well to realise it and distance themselves from him. That doesn't
mean people shouldn't post comments disagreeing with other viewpoints, but
it should not be done as some kind of bitter vendetta. After all they are
just airports........ lets keep things in perspective.
-----------------
Indeed much as I dislike Blimpie / BBB/ Deejay
/Gmuir and all his numerous aliases, I would not wish him harm, nor post
anything threatening him with harm.
Let there be no doubt in anyone's mind, The reason I do not post in aaue
is not because of Joe. It is because of Blimpie. I got totally sick of his
blinkered obsessive behaviour. I have to admit that at times it was fun
winding him up. But then I started to feel slightly bad about that. It
felt like bullying someone who really needed help.
----------------------
AAUE has sunk to a new low in which links to a pic featuring
someone has now being posted, (with his permission?) basically stalking, so,
until further notice, in fact for a very very long time, I will NOT be
posting anymore pics on the forums or binaries,
------------------------
I occasionally popped up in AAUE with what I believed to be EDI/
Scottish/ Aviation related posts , a bit of a lurker I suppose.
The AAUE group is utterly astonishing for all the wrong reasons, I
really can't believe what I read at times. I have NO connection with any
of the posters or any strong opinions, life is too busy for me to give
as much as a
hoot really.
I have noticed over the last few years some really interesting/talented
people leave AAUE for same reason as you,

So the 'Captains' live in Industrial units?
Capital property prices go through the roof
The cost of the average city centre home rose by almost 20 per cent in
the first-quarter of this year
compared with the same period last year. The average property in the
heart of Edinburgh now costs £225,000.
At the same time, the cost of homes in the rest of the city has also
jumped by more than eight per cent - to an
average of £179,215 - after a period of minimal growth.
And buyers in the Capital are still having to pay more over the asking
price than their counterparts elsewhere
in Scotland.
The average home is now selling for more than 20 per cent above the
"offers over" price, according to a report
from the Edinburgh Solicitors Property Centre.
Game. set and match?
