Road closures around Budapest airport 21 and 22 June 2006
easyJet Press Release 20/06/06
Posted with the express permission of the easyJet press officer.
President George Bush will be arriving at Budapest Airport on 21 June for a
visit to the city.
As a result a heavy security presence will be in situ in and around the
airport and city. Additionally all roads leading to and exiting from the
airport will be blocked between the hours of 17.00-1930 (local) on
Wednesday 21 June and between 18.00-19.00 (local) on Thursday 22 June 2006.
During these times, it will be impossible for traffic to enter or leave the
airport. It should also be noted that these times are subject to change,
extension etc. without any advance notice.
All easyJet flights will operate as normal, therefore should your flight be
departing from Budapest, we would strongly suggest that you make your way
to the airport as early as possible to enable you to arrive before 17.00 on
21 June and 18.00 on 22 June, when the roads around the airport will be
closed.
If you are arriving in Budapest during the time period in which the roads
will be closed, you should be aware that you will not be able to depart
from the airport until 1930 on 21 June and 1900 on 22 June.
We do appreciate the inconvenience that this issue will cause and as a
gesture of good will, we will offer the following options to customers
travelling on the following flights:
