|
|
Hello. I've searched the web and read the sales pitch on each company
web site but was after personal recommendations. I'm keen on taking a
couple of weeks off and doing as much flying as I can over that period.
I'm prepared to do as much travel anywhere in the country as is
necessary to find a good course. I'm based on the East Coast.

Have you checked the oz report (back issues?) Although many of the
articles deal with US issues, there's a lot of stuff on OZ and EU flying.

I have trained with Chris Boyce at stanwell tops (NSW). He is pretty |
good but the drawback is that if you are trying to do your high flight
off the hill at stanwell sometimes you are unable to fly due to
inacessability to the landing area and also becasue of the number of ppl
that use the area as a beginer you have to wait until there is room for you.
I have heard good reports about Johns River air park (NSW mid north
coast) and also understand that they dont have some of the crowding
issues that you would face at stanwell. Also they do tow lessons as well
as having access to a number of locations that arent governed by onshore
breezes alone.
I cant comment on any other however.
Best bet would be to mail some of the hanggliding clubs and ask for
their recomendations as they will in a lot of cases have a preference.
cheers
Steve
