Planning hitch may halt Loch Lomond sea-plane flights

Evening Times Online, 21/02/05

A firm that uses seaplanes to fly tourists around Loch Lomond has been
ordered to get planning permission for landings and take-offs.

The ruling comes from the National Park Authority, which says Loch Lomond
Seaplanes will be grounded if it does not immediately appeal the decision
or lodge a planning application.

That seems just mental!!, at a time when West Dunbartonshire is trying to

boost inward investment, and tourism around the Loch Lomond Shores complex!!
The "powers that be" seem to be stating noise or shadow(!!!?????) disturbing
the wildlife, yet, are happy to let any idiot on a high powered, high
polluting speedboat run about all over the loch!!
Good luck to David West on his appeal.

I totally agree. It is bizarre that they tolerate some of the crap that
buzz about on of Scotland's premier tourist areas but create barriers to
something that would be a benefit to the area.

Methinks that the "powers" get a bit of "guidance" on loch matters from some

of the more affluent residents on the shores of the loch

Rangers players staying in the lodges shouldn't have ANY influence :-)
