MP hits out at BA's 'retreat' from Scotland

CONCERNS about British Airways' "retreat" from Scotland have been raised by
Edinburgh West MP John Barrett in the House of Commons.

Mr Barrett was speaking after raising the issue of the sale of BA Connect and
outsourcing of baggage handling jobs at Edinburgh Airport with Secretary of
State for Transport Douglas Alexander yesterday.

Transport group GO-AHEAD this week agreed terms with BA that will see its
Aviance aviation support unit take over BA's ground handling at the city's
airport.
