|
|
The Irvington High School Science Club is announcing the creation of a
New High Altitude Balloon group. High Altitude Balloons are Helium
filled latex balloons that fly at altitudes higher then 85,000 feet
(some make it to over 140,000 ft). Amateur Radio and APRS are both
used to track the balloons during the flight and after landing The
group will be called "New York Near Space Research" or NYNSR for short
and will be conducting flights by late Spring next year in the Lower
Hudson Valley. We are hoping to have a website purchased by the end
of
this weekend and have some more information available. We have started
a public Google group under the name New York Near Space Research
already and you may join if you like.
73 to all,
