How about this? Another unhappy DigiWx customer!

Are there any certified FAA commissioned DigiWx AWOS out there???

I'm beginning to think NOT after reading this:

Our airport (which i ain't mentioning for benefit of the lawsuit happy
bunch at Belfort Instruments) was stupid enough to purchase one of these
DigiWx AWOS units from Belfort Instruments. about a week ago, we noticed
the placement by Belfort Instruments on our online DigiWx AWOS site a
notice which reads:

"DISCLAIMER: Weather readings shown on the Internet are advisory only."

several of us wondered what that meant as it didn't look good. from what
the airport manager has gotten so far (which ain't much from the fish
heads at Belfort Instruments) is that none of our weather data
is "official" according to FAA standards and it is all "advisory" which
means you can't use it for IFR operations. probably can't use it for VFR
ops either. so what good is it? we bought a DigiWx for IFR operations
and now we can't use it for IFR operations. Belfort Instruments said
that the FAA required them to place this notice on their websites that:

"DISCLAIMER: Weather readings shown on the Internet are advisory only."

i for one am madder than hell. we have this Belfort Instruments DigiWx
shit on our airport and it ain't worth pig's shit. and apparently this
is the way it's gonna be. i asked the airport manager why don't we ask
for our money back. he's said he will inquire but from what i have read
here about Belfort Instruments, we're a "stuck pig."

i'm warning any airport that is considering the purchase of a Belfort
Instruments DigiWx AWOS to call all the other airports listed on their
homepage (every damn last one of them) and ask them about their
experiences with DigiWx AWOS before actually buying one. because you
won't get what they say they will deliver. you'll spend a lot of money
and have some pig's shit guaranteed! the disclaimer should read:

"DISCLAIMER: Weather readings shown on DigiWx AWOS are pig's shit!
