That aircraft was indeed fitted with blow out panels intended to
prevent exactly that - due to a previous incident of door failure. It
was also supposed to be fitted with a modified locking mechanism too,
indeed the paperwork said that it was. It wasn't, and the blow out
panels sadly were not enough to prevent the floor damaging critical
flight controls.

This is where all 747 were retrofitted to the new specs including the
QANTAS 747-238 even though the 747 had the cables running through the roof. |

Presume you mean nitrous oxide - N2O - laughing gas
When administered it always mixed with oxygen, so that your engine doesn't
overheat! :)
