See:

With weapons like Hellfire, Viper Strike and Javelin already in the
inventory,
how useful would something like this be?

That article (specifically, the section on the right side of the page)
says the missile uses TV guidance,
then goes on to say the missile is all-weather capable. How does that
work?

I saw a couple of the prototypes when I went out to China Lake for an interview last year.
The place they're doing all the development work looks like a garage workshop... it'll
be very interesting if/when it gets fielded.

Since the US Spike is so much cheaper than Hellfire and Javelin, they can
buy more of them. They don't have to expend an expensive missile on a low
value target.Since it's lighter and smaller,a UAV can carry more of them.

The US-Spike is also not in the same category as Javelin or Hellfire;those
are anti-TANK missiles, while the US-Spike is only for lesser lightly
armored or unarmored targets. US-Spike does not have the penetration that
the other missiles have. It has a much smaller warhead.
Hellfire has a ~22 lb WH,US-Spike has a ~1 lb WH.
It reminds me of a hobbyist's model rocket.

The Israeli Spike is a different, unrelated missile, with a tandem WH.
