Rather than post this info in the 500,000th passenger on GLA-DXB
thread, I'll take this opportunity to reveal that their breakeven load
factor is just 59.9%. They also said that their overll load factor
was 76.2% Those facts are reported in Emirates financial results. Does
anybody know if any of their regional UK routes exceed either or both
of those figures Wink ?

Thanks for that David. I'm sure you'll have the MAN and BHX figures to hand
but in March they carried 18310 pax between DXB and GLA. That's a 70.3% load
factor assuming 60 flights with 434 seats each.

I think one or two of the flights may have used 777-200ER a.c?

Not immediately to hand but should be able to work out pretty
accurately the annual loads, once I've updated my list of EK fleet
listing into the right configuarations.

Anyway, did you see that they've a further 4 A380s on order and people
hypothesising for an extra order of between 15 to 20 to follow!

I'd love to put the following in one of the EK threads on
airliners.net:

"If in any doubt about why they'll need more A380s, here's the 2006
statistics for UK-Dubai scheduled services:

LHR: 1,374,451 pax, up 16.2%. Players: VS daily, BA 2? daily EK 5
daily
LGW: 501,802 pax, up 3.9%. Player: EK 3 daily
MAN: 416,201 pax, up 12.5%: Player: EK 2 daily
BHX: 308,825 pax, up 33.4%: Player: EK 2 daily
GLA: 192,932 pax. up 15.1%. Player: EK daily

Altogether: 2,794,211 pax, up 14.8%. 1 daily VS flight, 2 from BA and
no
fewer than 13 EK flights per day. And this year they are starting a
daily
NCL service!"

Wrong newsgroup. KEEP IT EDI!

Only if you keep it EDI yourself. And it's not the wrong newsgroup as
the VERY, VERY important fact that appears to have escaped your mind
(if you have one) is that there will be NO Scottish expansion should
the GLA service not be successful. That means NO EDI ROUTE if you've
not worked out what that last sentence means.

Indeed.

And funny that of the 7 different airports you mentioned in your post he
only objected to the mention of GLA. Speaks volumes for his undouted
problem.

I think he must have had a bad experience on DL and he's come back
more bitter than ever.
