Some of the info posted on these sites is incorrect. Carb icing will not
raise your EGT, instead it will lower it. What will raise your EGT is if
the carb (venturi) ice melts, runs down through the needle jet into the
float bowl, then freezes into a pellet. That pellet can get drawn up
against the main jet, restricting the fuel, causing EGT to rise. For
that reason you should dump the float bowls whenever you suspect you
have had carb (venturi) icing.

BTW, I'm the guy who took the picture of the carb ice.
