Looking through QF's website trying to find out what we can carry on the
aircraft and what we can't is a bit confusing. I'd like to be able to
carry our two video cameras, small digital types, as they are these
days, in our carryon luggage. We're flying MEL-CNS to my sister's
wedding up that way. So, it's important that the cameras arrive with us.

Also, are you allowed to video the takeoff and landings from the cabin's
perspective?

As long as you keep all electronic devices switched off during
the takeoff and landing phased of the flight, yes.
