Mary and I are (God willin' and the crik don't rise) headed that way
for the first time since '04. We'll be working the booth with our
friends in the "Flying Colors Glass" booth (in the SNF equivalent of
the North 40) promoting their windows and our hotel (where several of
their windows occupy a position of honor).

We're hopeful for a smooth arrival. I don't want to circle that
danged Lake Parker even one more time!

:-)

Anyone else heading to Lakeland?

Um...no. To many limits on the time/money thing to make more than one
trek from the left coast. Hope you guys have a good time
though...looking forward to the pirep.

However, when you've got the opportunity to go to SNF, thanks to
someone whose name sounds a lot like "Montblack", you take it and
run!

What? Did Paul win the lotto and now he's buying avgas...um, I mean,
mogas? Hey Paul, 350 gallons of 100ll please. That should get me
to/from S&F. Hmmm, there is that small matter of $$$ for engine
reserves & maintenance...ah, I'm sure you could cover that as well. :-)

What's your IAS at that power setting? I get about 150-155 MPH,
depending on temp, burning about 8 gph. I would get about 10 hours and
have a 30 minute reserve.

"Could" and "should" are two very different things.

I'm sure my 16 year old son and 13 year old daughter would have a
GRAND time with us gone for a week. I know I surely would have, at
their age.

Which leads us to Montblack, and his "Iron Fist" of discipline. We're
counting on him to keep our kids on the straight and narrow...and
perhaps even make them attend school during the week we're gone.

Mary is currently working on the NOTAM for Montblack now. It's
currently as long as the Sun N Fun Arrival Procedure, and will soon
exceed the Oshkosh NOTAM in both length and depth....

On the renovation front, we *should* be done with "Phase 1" of our
new lobby by the time he arrives (if I can finish up a few electrical
tasks in time). The day we get back from SNF, we start tearing out
walls and laying floor tile in "Phase 2".

Jay, do you have any plans or pics available of your renovation? Now that I finally made it back to your
place last summer, I am trying to visualize what you're doing to the place.

I won't make it to Sun n Fun this year, and probably not Oshkosh either, due to the time and distance
involved, but definitely enjoyed the pre-party and the North 40 party last year. Unfortunately, the pictures
keep coming up on my screen saver!

It was more the issue of my wife having to walk around all those
"boring airplanes".

It occurs to me that an enterprising wife could make, as the kids say,
"mad bank" by renting a passenger van and charging fares to other ladies
for day trips to the mall, spa, beach, etc. On the other hand, some
wives might see this as a challenge to spend as much at the mall as
their other half will spend on "airplane junk". :)

Nope, but in a moment (period? era?) of insanity, our Mr. Montblack
*volunteered* to keep an eye on our kids for us so that we could
attend SNF! He'll be staying in Iowa City for "the duration", and I
expect there will be some very interesting posts emanating from this
PC while we're gone.

Yep, a new level of insanity has hit the Honeck household...

Hmmm, hired MontSitterBlack, eh? That's...um...interesting Jay. I can
just see Joe and a bunch of his friends duct taping MontBlack to the
wall and then having a grand time until you get back :-)
