Problem is a shortage of traffic controllers so we all get stuck in a
holding position ;-)

It's a shame that the group is so quiet... I was seriously thinking of
advertising some safety presentations that I'll be giving in the Pittsburgh
area. I wonder now if this is the best venue for it.

A few years ago I remember a guy on here who claimed he was some kind of
Aviation Safety expert. his name was Roswell or something like that.

Nope. This newsgroup has never been a serious forum. It has been a joke
from the very beginning, but even the delightful flamewars have died off
over time. |

That would be Ralphie. Given your odd capitalization style, you could
very well be him! Giving you the benefit of the doubt, though, here's
one old summary of the old fraud. The "NAS" referred to is supposed firm
as advertised on really bad website. One regular around these parts
decided to track down his references:

The following is a very brief summary of my attempts to establish the
"accuracy" of various claims made by Ralphie - either on his homepage
or in various news groups.
Any and all of the information is independantly verifiable - any one
with interest contact me and I will provide names & Phone numbers of
those i talked with in confrming Ralphies claims
First I need to address Ralphies little post
| Quote: | He's a member of the <rec.aviation.homebuilt> news group. They are
basically a group of nerds with evil intent, known for liable, slander,
and other dirty tricks right out of the anarchist cook book.
|
Ralphie - have you ever actually seen the anarchist cookbook?
I doubt it as I can't see any of the items outlined there as being
applied to you - the only think that I have done to you is to hold
you accountable for your statements and professional claims, and I
don't recall that chapter from the cookbook!
Well Back to the subject at hand
Ralphies summary:
First of all all of the Information which I attemped to verify comes
directly from Ralphs posts or from his homepage (NAS)
For your reading pleasure I present the Ralphie Chronicles:
any information I put in here has been verified by the primary source
provided by Ralphie!
Anyone who wishes to verify my research is welcome to contact me - I
will hapily provide names and phone numbers of all those I talked
with!!!
Ralphie:
1. "intimated" that he flew Janet flights to area 51 and or worked in
the area.
-General Frank Camera (in charge of Janet flights) - says
Never heard of him!
-Ralphie displayed complete lack of knowledge about the area,
processes, and even Call signs of the Janet flights (Ralph though they
were Janice flights - due to a trap Bill Phillips and I laid for him.
When called on it he referred to Janet call sign as a "secret code
that he didn't want to reveal"
2. Claimed to be a pilot
-No Ralph Livingston in the available FAA data base
3. Claims that NAS owns and flies a "completely restored" warbird
-NAS owns no airplane - Ralphie owns a derelict T-Bone which is
rotting in the weeds at the end of a runway and will never fly again
4. Claims to be an "elected member" of the American Society of Safety
Engineers since 1988.
-ASSE has no record of him in their membership database, past
or present (5 years).
5.Ralphs Client list:
Ralph claims at least 81 clients on the NAS "informational"
page! I have begun trying to verify any of these companies as
"clients" of NAS.
According to Ralph
----"RESPECTIVE CLIENT LIST
"Some of the very fine Aviation Enterprises and Organizations
that Mr. Livingston has assisted with Aviation Safety Consulting, Site
surveys, Insurance Underwriting Surveys, and/or Occupational Safety
programming, are shown below:"
The list of airports shows 21 links
of those 21 links
4 are from the airnav system (traveler website info)
6 were not found or not responding links
1 was a scanned line drawing
10 are links to the airports homepage - obviously having nothing to do
with whatever NAS was involved in.
I have verified 1 site - "Ypsilanti airport"
The name is actually Willow Run - and the airport director was
supposed to return a call if he had ever heard of Ralph or NAS ? No
call!!!!
The list of Airlines shows19 supposed links
Of those 5 links are "dead"
1 link is to a company no longer in business
The remaining 13 are links to homepages with no mention of the
services provided by NAS
I have called Canadian Air - they know who Ralphie is -
believe he got their names in a card exchange at a safety meeting.
They told me "A complete fraud - do not do business with him under any
circumstance". They also are asking their legal department to force
Ralph to remove them from a client list. When I told Ralphie that I
was going to Vancouver to speak with them (which I did) he insisted I
was lying because they were based in Mississauga. According to Dick
Fish this was old info.
I called Midway Air , the safety director told me that he had been
with the company since it's inception - and he was sure neither Ralph
nor NAS had ever worked for them.
Ralph never responded to this info!!
I called Challenge Air Cargo. The guy who is their safety trainer
dealing with OSHA stuff does not know Ralphie or NAS - .
I guess I will continue checking Airlines - but this seems so
pointless - he hasn't proved out anything yet.
I also called Rogers Helicopter here in Fresno
Ralph insists that he has done extensive work for them. I talked with
Lanky - their safety expert - and he did not know Ralphie or NAS.
When I posted that I was informed that I was completely stupid as well
as being a liar - if I would just call Wanda - "President & CEO" she
knows him very well.
So I immediately called Wanda - she's never heard of Ralph or NAS.
Ralph of course insists that I am lying and he is immediately
forwarding all of the correspondence to Wanda.
In a return conversation with Wanda - she again confirmed that she
had no idea who NAS or Ralphie were - and she certainly has not
recieved a call, e-mail or other correspondance from him!!!
Ralphie - welcome to the tag line on each of your posts for the
forseeable future!
Any additions to the info are appreciated and will be added into the
file
Sorry it's so long - but Ralphie apparently lies alot!!!!!!!! |

Yeah that is guy- i remember laughing my ass off at some of the exchanges in
here. Probably in the late 90's? What the heck happened to him- any
resurfacing ever? Been a while since i was on usenet- seems like all the old
groups have died down.
Didn't he say he was involved in some military flights in nevada or some
crap like that? I just remember him trying to be all serious and constantly
getting trashed by others.. anyhow it was funny stuff.

He popped up back last April and was promptly ridiculed right back into
the obscurity he so richly deserves.

That was discussed in the very email to which you're replying. See
