Can anyone share their experiences with the Sadler Vampire?

Are they a nice beast to tame or just a dog? Apart from the thrust and lift
etc, how do these things fly according to the driver?

This aircraft appears to fall into the price range for my nonaffordable
wallet. Can't find much information on it though and not much is on the
Aussie web site to satisfy my thirst for information. I have sent an
email/feedback to the web administrator but have heard nothing to date.
Mind you, it has only been a couple of days and it may be that he is busy
pumping out these aircraft from the factory.

Cheers

If you cant afford a vampire then you can afford to go flying.... They
havent been made for about 10 years and someone is trying to get it
going again, although i dont have any progress updates on his efforts...

If your more than about 80 kgs you are too heavy, they only have a 2
stroke option and there are many 2 seaters out there which may suit your
needs.. Michael

there is a lot of incorrect information given about the vampire here,
firstly,
the Vampire is STIIL in production and being sold as the SV3.

the SV3 model has a 4 stroke engine.

the max pilot weight is 93Kg with full fuel and max baggage..

as for flying, they do have some quirks, the main gear is too far
aft of the CofG meaning it wont take off at any speed without a good
reef back on the stick. and when landing the nose does come down hard
if your not on the ball. when the mains touch, you hold the stick full
aft for as long as you can to bring the nose down soft.

as for flying, they fly well, mine cruises at 95 Kts at 6500 rpm or
90 kts at 6300 with a 3 hr endurance
