I bet if the lazy-ass 72.7% voted instead of just assuming the name wouldn't change (or didn't think they cared), well then the results might be different. Still, I doubt everyone I know is going to stop calling it "yoosh-guh" for the more politically-correct "yoosh-puh-guh" or whatever. Just an extra word to read through - only a minor inconvenience (but still an inconvenience.) For that matter, why not another vote to change the name to "USFLA?" (US Foot-Launched Aviation?) Or maybe drop the US moniker altogether, since it apparently pisses some people off. It would have been easy to get nearly 100%, if the vote were tied to a members annual renewal. I smell a rat, and while I have been a loyal USHGA member since 1985 (and flying for nearly 10 years before that) I will not renew. Where I fly, memberships/ratings/insurance (which is nearly worthless anyway) are not needed. Best of luck to them, but without my support.
