easyJet welcomes new security measures and looks forward to further
improvements

easyJet welcomes the changes to security measures announced by the
Department for Transport today, especially the relaxation of hand
baggage size restrictions which will be particularly welcomed by those
travelling on business or taking short breaks.

easyJet's passengers would still welcome a review of the ban on liquids
and permitting a secondary piece of hand-baggage to be taken on board.

The new rules will come into effect from 02:00 on Friday 22nd September.

Andy Harrison, easyJet Chief Executive, said:

"This is good news for the travelling public, who have borne the brunt
of the disruption in the last few weeks. Those taking short-trips will
be particularly pleased. We hope our passengers will soon be allowed to
take their own liquids and a second bag, such as a laptop, into the
cabin."
