Since the excellent news of Globespan's expanded services was
announced most of the post's I have read in this group has centered on
the Paris flight and I can understand why, apart from the timing of
the flight it is fantastic news. However would I be correct in stating
that Gran Canaria is a new route for Gla. If my knowledge is correct
has it not been a monopoly of Pik over the last few years. If it is
correct and I may be corrected on this, it is another new route for
Gla. Great.

No. It's been served from GLA for many years by all the main tour operators.

Still good news about the new GSM flights along with Paphos and Lanzarote
though.

Speaking of Lanzarote, it has one of the most amazing "spotter
friendly" beach approaches. No unlike the famous St Maartens.

Sitting on a beach, Pina Colada in one hand and the scanner in the
other... I feel a booking coming on !

Yes I've done all that at Lanzarote (no scanner though - just enjoyed the
mystery of the next European charter flight to punctuate the day). Rhodes is
similar too.

I was amazed when landing there just how many people were on the beach
under the approach. Not my kind of holiday though, I have to say.
