Yes send 1000's of jobs overseas for cheap work, and lets just hope one of
your Aircraft don't fall out of the sky because of this cheap labour.
Remember the old saying, pay peanuts, and you get monkee's.
I wish Dixon would elaborate on what work practises he wants changed so the
flying public could have thire view on this.

Anyway Qantas if you do this, you lost me as a future passenger.

Fairly simple really. He wants them to work for peanuts.

But when you book with Virgin Blue, you know you're flying with Virgin

Blue ;-)

But look on the good side, with out all that extra expense, Qantas will
reduce airfares even more ;-)

They've mostly lost me already - only use them when there's no-one else.

1 million points and I couldn't get 2 business class return seats to
Heathrow for June returning July next year. This was attempted as soon as
the window of opportunity for the return opened. Even if I could have got
them, they were going to be 256000 points each. Got seats on JAL business
class for 110000 points return - much better value for your dollar.

Shouldn't reply to myself, but I forgot to add, I could have got seats on BA

business class for 100,000 JAL points, when I couldn't get BA seats with QF
for the 256000 points. Work that one out!!

Had much the same problem but managed the seats with BA. So what your
saying is to join another FF program where the points are worth
something. I know my QF points have been eroded over the last 5 years.

Not sure what Dixons up to but all bonus FF points that are accrued with
credit cards are bought off Qantas by the CC company.

We have seats to LHR early next year and had to pay an extra $450ea for
the pleasure. That's near 25% of a cheap economy ticket.

But how long before they outsource all their labour costs, pilots, boilers,
etc... and pay you to fly with them.

On overseas flights, we fly JAL or a partner airline (which includes BA)
with the partner airline points credited to JAL. You can then get seats much
more easily than on QF and at a much lower cost in number of points. I live
in Cairns and the JAL flight to Narita is operated by QF, with all the
points going to my JAL account. Additionally, the JAL business class fare to
London is about half the QANTAS cost. QF have continually lowered the value
of their points - which is why I go elsewhere if I can.

Yep. QF FF plan is almost worthless.
I'll look at the JAL one - any other suggestions of plans that are good
value for money?

Dunno about actual flight credits, but as far as credit card points go the
Holden card is a million times better than my ANZ QFF Visa which I'm
planning to cancel. You get 10% return on the holden one.

What do you mean you had to pay and extra $450 for the pleasure? If
its just the taxes and government charges you are talking about then
it goes to show how much we all pay!

That $450 includes the QANTAS fuel etc surcharges - not just government
ones.

See now BA has some deals at $1300 + tax and S/C - cheap trips! be nice
to add point to that and have business.
