You wish.

When were you elected to the planning committee?
Plans are well under way as you well know. Infact the necessary civil
engineering planning work is at a very advanced stage.

Plenty. There has been tonnes of talk about the project right here in the
last couple of years. This news is the final conclusion. It pays to be
informed and there is no reason in the world why that news in particular
shouldn't be presented here after all said and done. Or do you disagree? If
so why?

Clive

My thoughts are:
If it is something that affects both EDI and GLA, then it is fair play.
If not then no.

However, if it has nothing to do with EDI at all, then it shouldn't be
mentioned either...Hemce reports from ABZ, INV, MAN or NCL shouldn't be
here...

"ALT.AIRPORTS.UK.EDINBURGH CHARTER

Charter: The discussion of news and views relating to Edinburgh Airport.
Flight availability: scheduled and charter: Car Parking: Transport:
Commercial posting on flights available from, Travel Agents, Tour
Operators and Airlines are among the topics to be part of the main forum."

You, I or anyone else are unable to dictate what can and cannot be posted
to this group. The wide ranging charter means that discussion of other
airports (including GLA) is very much on topic.

A view that the newsgroup creator concurred with during the time he was
posting here. And incidentally the newsgroup creator stated he doesn't have
a problem with cross-posting bewteen here and aaug or any other related
group.

I agree where something demands in depth discussion it's best to do so in
the most relevant newsgroup. However this newsgroup did need to know the
outcome of the GARL consultation after years of discussion, just as aaug
will be informed on any developments for EARL. Make no mistake, if the
outcome had been less positive it would have been revealed here by someone.

EDI doesn't operate in a bubble. Often news elsewhere is handy to know if we
are to remain informed of what's going on. Common sense should suffice.

Quote:

I like the discussions ivolved here, but I think there is too much
bitterness between certain people...this newsgroup does not need that.

Yes we shouldn't let them dictate what can and cannot be said though.

Quote:

Thankfully however, the language used remains civilized and not
plumetting to the levels of Andrew Scotland.

Largely, yes.
Thanks for the level headed reply Graham.
