GLASGOW PRESTWICK PASSENGERS UP 10% IN OCTOBER
GPIA Press Release 22/11/05
Glasgow Prestwick Airport handled 222,278 passengers in October, 10% up
on October 2004's total of 201,449.
The twelve-month rolling total now stands at 2,389,178, 11% up on the
corresponding figure last year.
Chief Executive Steve Fitzgerald said: "October was another month of
double-digit passenger growth for Glasgow Prestwick.
"October scheduled passengers were slightly stronger than the September
numbers, a strong result heading into autumn. The addition of a Ryanair
Krakow service on 1 November will be offset by the loss of some
frequencies to Germany and Scandinavia during the winter season.
"Freight volume of 2,512 tonnes was 22% below October 2004. The Polar
pilots' industrial action impacted the early part of October but has now
been resolved and the operations at Glasgow Prestwick have returned to
business as usual."
ends 21 November 2005

Crosspost trolling!
Anyone answering these crosspost are destroying the agenda of both newsgroups.
Extract from our posting guidelines...
-------------------------------------------------------------
Subject: What is not acceptable
Cross-posting articles between alt.airports.uk.edinburgh and
alt.airports.uk.glasgow. (Cross-posting to binary newsgroups is also not
acceptable for obvious reasons).
Both newsgroups should be allowed their own unique identities without
'stealing' each others.
"The Crosspost Troll"
This is perhaps the most effective Troll in that it produces large
numbers of posts with little effort from the Troll. An inflammatory post
is made to a group of Sub Target newsgroups, say cooking, politics or
guns. The Target Newsgroup is included in the ng list. The innocent
posters to the Sub Target newsgroup continue to discuss this in the
normal way without noticing that the posts are also going to the Target
Newsgroup.
