PLANE carrying 266 people made an emergency landing at Glasgow Airport
today after the crew became ill.
The captain reported a full emergency when four staff complained of a
strange smell in the cabin.
There were suggestions from the fire brigade that the British Airways Boeing
777 was carrying hazardous substances, but this could not be confirmed.
The emergency was declared about 1pm, less than an hour after the plane took
off from London's Gatwick Airport bound for Houston, Texas.
Doctors checked out the crew, who were suffering from sore throats, and they
did not need hospital treatment.
Passengers were, however, expected to face long delays as technical experts
checked out the plane and interviewed crew. A PLANE carrying 266 people made

Scary stuff. I wonder what might have caused this?

On the 27th June a British Airways 747 en-route SFO from LHR diverted into
GLA due a medical emergency, the a/c departed direct to San Francisco about
3 hours later...

IDIOT!.......... Read the newsgroup title...... What's wrong with you
guys....

Evidence that you in particular are geographically challenged?

Howabout a mini-cab advert? We haven't had one of those for while.?

I know who the idiot is, you're not long after posting an 'anyone help' plea
about PIK, or Glasgow Prestwick International as they like to be known..

General aviation interest again, surely? Like your own post concerning
Virgin Atlantic's proposed Sydney service and Richard Branson's penchant
for
stewardess uniforms!

An article concerning an emergency landing can hardly be interpreted as
promotion of an airport ... can it?!

It was Scottish general aviation interest to the majority on here I would
reckon Callum,

So what are you trying too say Joe? That I posted the article about a

serious incident in order too promote Glasgow Airport? You really are one
sick man.
