Terrific news. BAA can now deflect all the media and political criticism of
their alleged lack of enthusiasm for GLA with renewed confidence.

Good news that some 'quality' destinations such as Prague and Rome are to be
served too ... not that Alicante, Malaga and Faro aren't good places (I
hasten to add!), it's just good to see flyglobespan placing their confidence
in the Scottish market for travel to Euro destinations of a non seaside
nature!

This along with their expansion at EDI (without any `public` subsidy) is
excellent news for Central Scotland's airports and renews BAA's commitment
to their Scottish portfolio.

Excellent news and we shouldn't underestimate it because it's mostly seaside
flights. 4 of the destinations will be served daily all summer and Prague,
Nice and Rome are excellent new destinations which will be half full of
inbound tourists.

I have long been campaigning for easyJet to set up a mirror image of their
Liverpool base at GLA but we now have it in the shape of FlyGlobespan.
Hopefully a successful season will lead to more city type destinations in
the future. I wonder if they still have plans for GLA-US/Canada as they said
previously?

Well done Globespan and BAA.
Clive
