If you were to be given a modest sum of money, say between 1 and 5
million £ right now, whats the first thing you would improve at
Glasgow International?

Stabilise the runway before it sinks into the Clyde marsh.

I'd retire to Spain.
If the money had to be spent at the airport I would use it to minimize the
PIK effect. First priority would be to secure a CDG service.
If it had to be used on the infrastructure you'd only get 2 more stands at
best.

I'd redesign the remaining part of the main terminal building between
the shops and the domestic apron wall/windows.
Speaking as a design/building fan I think the entire spacial concept
of the original building has been lost and this tight little corridor
has become increasingly cluttered, narrow and claustropobic.
Whoever designed the new extension at the front obviously ran out of
money and inspiration before he got to the airside end of the project.
When you look at some of the architectural gems going up as airport
terminals like, Charles De Gaulle, Franfurt and Denver, you have to
wonder when BAA will wake up and smell the coffee (outlets).
I don't expect many too agree with me, it's a functional building
after all. But if we can build attractive things just along the Clyde
like the Science Centre and IMAX theatre, why can't we do something at
GLA architecturally that really represents our international status
and ambitions ?
Oh aye... and I'd get rid of those feckin Rangers and Celtic shops and
replace them with a St Mirren emporium ! Mon the Saints !!!!!!
Yeeehah!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As far as onward connections go, isn't FRA a better option?

Quite possibly but there is a far greater O&D market between GLA and CDG.
14 flights a week to PRG and ZERO to CDG. Aye right!

Most certainly, along with CDG. :-)

So much that Air France 'pulled' GLA-CDG.

Why is thier no flights to CDG, FRA and a year round scheduled service
to MCO. I mean surely thier is enough people to fill the CDG & FRA
service.

Multiple choice...
(a) BAA's categorisation policy
(b) Lack of demand
(c) Ignorance on the part of the airlines
(d) Passengers prefer EDI
(e) Flights to (cough) nearby airports from PIK
Hint: There weren't flights before Ryanair set up at PIK either.

A full length taxyway to the 23 end and the strengthening of the overun at
the 05 run AND a taxyway to there, that would give the GLA tarmac a physical
length of at least 9,500 ft.

Eh, I'm lost here, but are you saying the Ryanair Bac 1-11 flights from GLA
to DUB were a figment of my imagination? Shurely not?

Not. We're talking GLA-CDG and GLA-FRA. Were there services just
before PIK-BVA started?
