21 new services on offer as Glasgow attracts new world class airlines

02 March 2004 BAA.COM

Bosses at Scotland's busiest airport are gearing up for one of its busiest
years on record with the launch of a host of new flights, and the unveiling
of a £12 million second terminal.

Airport Terminal Manager Paul White says Glasgow Airport is expecting a
bumper year, with the launch of 21 new services, including Philadelphia,
Toronto, and Dubai.

A massive effort by the company to secure new routes has attracted several
big name carriers to Glasgow Airport, including US Airways, which will
launch a new daily service to Philadelphia; and Emirates, which will fly
from Glasgow to Dubai. New routes to Canada and continental Europe are also
set for launch this summer.

In May, the airport will also unveil its second terminal ? T2 ? in response
to growing demand from the no-frills airlines and charter companies.

Mr White said: "2004 promises to be an important year for Glasgow Airport,
with the opening of our new £12 million second terminal, and the launch of
major new routes to North America, Europe and the Gulf region.

"The opening of our second terminal underlines BAA Scotland's commitment to
invest in new facilities and deliver more choice for passengers. This
summer will see us offer new services to 21 destinations from Glasgow,
providing around one million additional passenger seats."

He added: "BAA has pulled out all the stops to attract world class airlines
like Emirates and US Airways to Glasgow. 2004 looks like being a bumper
year for Glasgow Airport, with more choice and a better range of
destinations for passengers."
