Hi Folks,

Booked on the new Flybe Glasgow to Liverpool flight. Arrived at GLA on
Tuesday morning and checked in around 9.45am. No bags to check in so was
quickly given my boarding pass and sent on my way.

Went upto gate 16 and there was a lot of people waiting around. Flight
boarded on time (allocated seating on a nice Dash8), only issue was my seat
was window side but right beside the engine, must try and get a seat further
up front in future.

Took off on time, pilot was chatty enough. Trip time was 45minutes. Service
on-board is tea, coffee etc (but not free).

Spoke with the Captain when leaving the aircraft, there were 45 pax on board
which is not bad at all. The Captain asked what I thought of the price and
for £70 return I certainly could not complain. He did say that load figures
had been very good and the route likes it will be very popular.

Arrived on time, bit of a walk from the stand to arrivals but better than
driving.

Finished a day early and managed to get a change in flight for today (cost
£25 but saved on hotel/meals anyway). Total pax onboard 40 so good figures
again. When I phoned upto change my ticket I asked the lady how it was going
for bookings etc and she said that there was a lot of interest and people
have been booking well in advance and others were not sure when the route
was starting up.

Anyway, I am very happy with this new service and I will certainly be using
it again in the future. It will save my company a lot of money and makes my
life easier. I can now fly to every City/Town that we have a customer in,
this is certainly the way to do things.

Well done Flybe, bring on some of the European routes that you could offer.

regards John

Nice report John, good to see the route performing well even at this
early stage. How many people can those Dash 8's hold?

On another note: According to egpf.co.uk MYT will operate GLA-LAS next
year (sorry didn't think it was really worthy of a new topic, anyone
else feel free)

Around 70 or so. However, what they should be doing is allowing a day
return and not a daily service otherwise some people will still find it
easier to route to Liverpool via the BA/BD MAN services. Perhaps
addtional aircraft are needed for this to happen?

It goes up to twice daily with business day timings from 16 June, the same
day the new daily to Norwich starts.

couldn't agree more - I had the same experience recently and my head has
only just stopped throbbing.
