Outbound GLA-TFS First Choice 757 -200 G-OOOY
Boarded from gate 28 , 30 mins before departure time of 0810. The usual
similarly flight timed TCX flight to TFS boarded even earlier.
Flight was 2/3 full- quickly boarded with attentive staff. Extra leg room
seats at middle door way given at no extra charge.
Sealed up and swift takeoff from 23.
Prompt "included" meal service of delicious cooked breakfast.
Drinks and duty free seemed to be served quickly.
Problems with inflight entertainment quickly resolved. One full length
feature and usual sitcoms Film had Cameron Diaz in it- but didnt catch the
name.
Smooth flight all the way , followed Ayr, IOM, Dublin, Bay of Biscay,
Santiago, Madeira, Canaries.
Minimal but enough commentary from pilots.
Standard TFS approach. Great views of extensive snow fall the day before
over the Teide range.
Clear blue sky and temp 22dc
Heavy landing and usual FCA no reverse thrust.
Remote stand parking and disembarked from 2nd exit.
Was worried that G-OOOY was one of the oldest 757s inherited from AMM, but
it was actually built in 1998. Has turquoise "leather" seats and drop down
flat panel monitors now standard across fleet I think.
For £42 single , found this excellent value. The meal service and IFE
definitely make a difference to experience and perceived flight time.
Quoted flight time was the quickest so far - 4hrs 7 mins due to favourable
tail winds.
The fact the aircraft wasnt full made it a far more pleasant experience..
All in all a great flight with FCA and would highly recommend for service
and value for money.

Good report dagspot, IIRC my last flight to TFS was almost 5 hours on a
GSM 737-800W?
