2nd time in a week I flew from Glasgow International to Southampton with
Flybe. After last week's delay because of no cleaner I hoped for better.
Soon to be Europe's biggest regional airline ,,,,, whatever the definition
of that may be.

9 AM flight so the usual chaos on the M77 slowed things for a start.

Serious frost forecast so an undercover spot in the multi storey car park
was sensible. Unfortunately none available so ended up on the roof level.

Check in nice and quiet so no problems. Security queue was reasonable so
only 10 mintues delay there.

Gate 14. How I dislike that little cubby hole so I waited in the corridor
and watched the planes go by. 0835 and the Ba46 taxied on stand. 25
minutes to turn round to get us away on time. No problem for some low cost
carriers but a bit of a challenge for Flybe. GLA then used all it's
experience of handling a routine flight in a reasonably quiet period. 35
,,,, yes 35 minutes later the steps for the aircraft arrived. Those nice
little Serviceair ones you could push round the apron. A very angry crowd
of passengers were finally let off the aircraft just in time to see a second
set of steps pull up ,,,,,,, and not be used.

Ground handling made a lounge announcement we couldn't hear.

Boarded 0915 - for a 0900 departure. A fairly small load for the Ba 146 so
it shouldn't be long ,,,,,,,, except they then started to refuel the
aircraft after being on stand for 40 minutes.

FO made announcement from the flight deck. Couldn't hear much except
something about steps ,,,,,,, Finally left just over 50 minutes late.

Don't you just love the quality of service at these high cost airports ?

Hi Doug,

Thanks for the report. I wonder which way you travel to GLA i.e. where
do you come off the M77? There might be a better way for you so that
you come off before Junction 4 as 3/2 can be bad sometimes.

Sounds rather farmiliar. I came back from Amsterdam the other week, at
a nice quiet time of 2145. The F100 had it's own steps, but the very
efficient Ground Crew could only provide one bus for the transfer from
Stand 23. Surprisingly it was busy with a Globespan flight which had
just arrived before us.So a long wait was had by all and the early
arrival turned into a frustratingly late arrival.

Sounds like those nice people in Serviceair are needing a rocket in
their b*** for their excellent customer service, that the Airlines and
their passengers actually pay them to provide.
