As well as the CO GLA service being down (compared to last year),
the GLA scheduled Euroroutes are also substantially down. But what
of the other scheduled long-haulers? Two examples:
Chicago (May to August) : down 2973 (7.4%)
Keflavik : (January to August) : down 9972 (22.4%)
Source: CAA

Blimps, it does not matter if people are dying of SARS, being blown up by |
tourists or a major war. The main thing is that PAX numbers are down and Joe
will make the most of it.
Joe YOUR TROLLING. You are looking for confrontation. I suggest that you go
and look at the reasons why these pax numbers are down. Ask Rod your mate
for advice. I have already shown you why the CO numbers were down and that
was from CO themselves. It seems to me that you don't give a damm about
human life as long as you can get one over on GLA. You really are sinking to
a new low level Joe.
Your really are becoming sick and twisted.

Right folks lets get some facts sorted out. Joe spouts off these FIGURES in |
an attempt too be-little GLA without even looking into what the airlines are
saying. So for everyone else reading this please see the bit below.
http://www.icelandair.com/
Passenger Number and Load Factor in October and the First 10 Months of 2003
Passenger number and load factor for October and the first 10 months in 2003
Icelandair
There was a 4,7% increase in the number of passengers travelling with
Icelandair in October, compared to the same month in 2002. This increase is
6,3% on the to/from Iceland route and 3,6% increase in the number of
passengers travelling on the North Atlantic routes, via Iceland, compared to
the same month last year. Total number of passengers was almost 96 thousand
this month but around 92 thousand last year. Seat supply in October was
almost the same as in the same month last year thus, the load factor
increased 3,8%. It was 72,5% this year but was 68,7% in October last year.
The number of passengers travelling with Icelandair in the first ten months
of the year is about the same as last year, or about 638 thousand compared
to 644 thousand passengers last year. The number of passengers travelling
on the North Atlantic route decreased 16,1% which can be traced to the Iraq
war and spreading of SARS. Overall, Icelandair total number of passengers
decreased 6,9% compared to the same period last year.

Right folks lets look at the figures in a different light rather than the
way that JC has posted them. This is for the Chicago routes from GLA.
Month 2003 2002
May 4386 8270
Jun 10684 10572
Jul 11640 10933
Aug 10299 10387
So folks it seems that May 2003 was the main month that the pax numbers were
down. Jun, Jul, Aug were all UP with only a downturn of 88 pax for Aug 2003.
So for Jun thru to Aug the route actually recorded an increase of approx.
3%.
So folks its not all DOOM & GLOOM as Joe is trying too show for some reason.
Maybe he should investigate things a bit further before posting things.

Because EDI doesn't have any direct or semi-direct scheduled services to the
USA.

Maybe he just shouldn't post full stop.
In May 2002 American Airlines started the GLA-EWR route on the 1st of May.
31 flights averaging 266 pax per day.
In May 2003 American Airlines started the GLA-ORD route on the 16th May. 16
flights averaging 274 pax per day.

Yes indeed. They started later in May this year. Absolutely brilliant |
figures though and thanks to Joe for bringing this to the groups attention.
Again good work John in finding out the FACTS.

Really sorry Clive...I've have just had enough of him and his nonsense. I am
not any angry person, however, enough is enough. I'm trying, along with many
other to listen and learn about Scottish Aviation and these groups prove
very useful and informative.
That person is an embarrassment and humiliation to all and I am ashamed to
have reduced myself to his level.
Please do't let him confuse the issue on this....My offer original offer
still stands and I'm still more than willing to pay for the inital writ
