Hi Guys.

I got back from my holiday in Vegas on Sunday morning.

Flights with AA were full in both classes between GLA and ORD both
ways. My connection down to LAS was delayed by a couple of hours wich
enabled me to spend a good few hours watching the European arrivals
while indulging in some nice cold beer at ORD. Big Smile.

Vegas was fun if a little expensive, as one might guess the idea there
is to cream as much money as possible from you as quickly as possible.

Coming home my flight to ORD was rescheduled a couple of hours later
which gave me a short period of time to connect and unfortnately I
missed the offer of $800 to travel via LHR as the GLA flight was
overbooked.

I believe they had overbooked by around 5 pax.

Service with AA was fine, I even managed to get some free drinks from
the crew on the flight back.

The only disappointment was not getting a room upgrade at the Hilton.
I'm an HH Gold member and usually get a free upgrade.

The guy kept repeating that there were no romms available, no matter
what I said. i'm convinced he was bs****** me.

I'm not sure if this was because I booked through a discount channel,
but it seems a plausible explanation.

Hi Gusty, glad you have a nice holiday and thanks for the information. I
have had the same problem as you at Hiltons in London, when booked via
our travel agent I never get an upgrade, but if booked direct with them
it always happens. Must be Hilton's categorisation policy :-)

Been once, it was ok but as you say they are out to make as much from you as
possible, I enjoy a few beers each night on holiday but every bar had a
video poker screen at each stool and I don't gamble Wink
We stayed at the Luxor in a Pyramid room overlooking McCarran and the
'Janet' ramp, 14th floor just above the Sphynx's head ;-)

All the US flights seem to be doing very well this year, that's the 3rd
flight I've heard of of being overbooked in as many weeks, 2 from PHL and
your own, no doubt there will be plenty more over the next couple of weeks.

Great load factors then.

As long as the Diet Coke's free I'm happy ;-)

I would have to agree Clive with you on that point. It seems that Joe is
determined to attack the trip reports with stupid comments about shell suits
etc. Why cant he just leave the reports along instead of using them as a dig
on the west, Glasgow, GLA or BAA.

As for being complimentary, I don't travel in a shell and neither does my
wife or my daughter. When on business I trips I actually travel in jeans and
a short sleeved shirt and get changed at the other end, depending on what
sort of job/meeting I am attending.

You seem to think that the people using GLA are all on the dole, wearing
shellsuits and don't have 2p in their pocket, which is totally untrue. Maybe
Joe you should visit GLA and actually have a look around and see the type of
people taking the trips.

Of course it is. It's part of his "Weegie bashing" swathing stereotype for
anyone west of Harthill.

Why doesn't he inform us all what his income is, and where it is derived from.

That would be interesting.
