GLASGOW Airport today celebrates the official opening of its new
£12million terminal.
The Evening Times revealed in January that Glasgow was to become the
first airport in Scotland to open a second terminal, in response to
growing demand from low-cost airlines and charter firms.
The new facility, dubbed T2, will be able to handle 1.5million
passengers a year and has 25 check-in desks to help relieve pressure
on the main terminal over the busy summer months.
The opening was being attended by Glasgow City Council leader Charles
Gordon, Renfrewshire Council leader Jim Harkins and local MSPs.

Let's hope it is successful in that aim. Was kind of hoping for an easyJet
announcement today to coincide with the launch of the new terminal ...

I'm wondering whether there is any relevance in that. I mean, does it
matter whether the gates are arranged as one large terminal or two or more
smaller ones?

It's a prestige thing All the major UK airports have 2 or more
Terminals, LHR, LGW, MAN, GLA etc.

Doesn't bother Schipol... But BAA it seems are caught-up in justifying
ownership of
GLA by providing an additional 'shed' to appease the critics...

It's only you who humiliates Turnhouse with your anti-GLA nonsense out of
all the Scottish airports, have a good look at yourself and see the damage
you are doing not only to EDI but to Scotland.

They are a few hundred meters apart and before you ask, no T2 could not have |
been built onto the main terminal as there are a lot of other things in the
way. If you have flown from GLA then T2 is right at the start of the Airport
Taxi rank.
