Follow this link:-

news://freenews.netfront.net

Provided you have Outlook Express it should immediately start and prompt
you to load the list of available newsgroups which includes
alt.airports.uk.glasgow

Please let us know if this link solves your problem or not.

Also to be found on the same site are
alt.airports
alt.airports.uk.edinburgh
alt airports.uk.hmberside
alt.airports.us.atlanta
free.uk airports-luton

and Joe's groups free.uk.airports.*
where * can be Abbottsinch Aberdeen Manchester Newcastle or Prestwick
Some of these latter get little or no traffic

Best of luck.

Hi Mike,

I've had exactly the same experience re:

freenews.netfront.net
news.individual.net

I've now been waiting over two weeks for an access code from
news.individual.net and can't post directly from OE 6 via freenews.
The Berlin uni server also doesn't connect via OE. Very frustrating!

Why don't you just ask your ISP to carry the group?

Have done so, last week or so.
In a round about way you have a valid point Joe. ( Makes a change ).
NTLWORLD have a high uptake rate in West of Scotland as an ISP, by not
providing access to GLA there is obviously reduced traffic to the
group. It's called a logical explanation!!

Registration used to be done the next working day.

Perhaps the change in administration is to blame.

newsgroup traffic is up 193% from previous figures whilst EDI group is down so
the demand must be increasing :-)

Seriously though keep pestering them and you should soon get it added.
