London City airport is to offer a series of new destinations as part of
a £40 million expansion.

The number of travellers using the airport is set to rise from two
million this year to at least 3.5 million by 2010. There are plans to
enlarge the terminal building and to provide more space for aircraft.
The airport hopes to offer flights to Glasgow and Newcastle this year
and is looking at links with Copenhagen, Stockholm, Madrid, Milan and
Vienna by the end of 2006. It now serves 23 destinations, 14 of them on
the Continent.

Nothing definate then.?

How many airlines have 'pulled' this route from GLA.? Perhaps David Kerr
might assist.?

It's a shame the way this thread has developed.

Getting back on topic, could this be the bmi specially refitted ERJ-135 that
had been mooted for LCY-GLA?

Getting back on topic on a lot of the threads in what is an excellent
web site and discusion forum is what is needed in general terms here.

Its a shame that a certain wind-up arsehole is allowed to make comment.
When none of what he writes is of any value to this site. From way out
there in the West Calder suburb of Livingstone.

I assume ERJs can land at LCY? If it's a success then expect
BA to come in with an antique 146 on the route.

VLM said their Fokker 50's would be payload restricted to fly from LCY to
GLA thus uncompetative due to the restrictions at LCY but didn't rule out
ops when they get jet aircraft in the future. However it could be that bmi
will beat them to it.

They have or are getting one/some with a special steep landing kit or some
such. I think they intend to do LCY-LBA with them but currently have a
contracted ATR on the route.

It's always interesting to see exactly what is al LCY when I'm down
there. Lots of Fokkers usually, with the odd Do328. And BA's 146 when
it's about.

I suppose I have. But then again there are some other notable
omissions to the usual selection of posters. Which I have to
say, IMVHO, is generally a Good Thing.

No I don't recall seeing that. It's mainly VLM, Swiss, AF and various
smaller operators - like ScotAirways but from Europe.

Euromanx should be there 3 times a day but it could be their ATR-42's at the
moment?

Adding more weight to the likelyhood of Euromanx being the interested party
for LCY-GLA, the latest addition of ABTN says it's known they are looking at
LCY-NCL with 146's. Add that to the LCY admission that NCL and GLA were
coming on stream and it seems Euromanx are expanding ops outwith IOM from a
new base at LCY.

In this group? I hadn't really noticed as I don't see the troll but there is
actually quite a lot going on at the moment which needs discussing. John and
John will be travelling the country as usual but where is Jim and Blimps
when you need them? Opologies to anyone else who's missing.
