Noone seems to no where this "4 based aircraft" seems to have come from as
never mentioned on the internal EZY crew email

Each airport has 3 based 737s. These fly Belfast, Stansted and Luton

first thing in the morning. If there is an increase to 4, that is good
news for both airports.
There is still a lingering rumour of a Glasgow to Berlin service but
that may just fill in the space left by the ceased Amsterdam service.
Has the Edinburgh to Luton service been reduced to 5 per day from the
summer?

In the new summer 2006 timetable their is still the gap in the GLA schedule
where the AMS service used to be so surely they are going to fill that.

Yes EDI-LTN is reduced to 5 for the summer so far but the 6th flight may not
have been loaded yet.

Looks that way, a random search on a Wednesday in June returned 5
flights, here's the link to the website -

Just checked a weekday in July and it appears to be six daily flights.

Glad the B733's are getting replaced. Did LTN-GLA-LTN on Tues/Wed this week
and they are certainly looking a bit shabby. On the GLA-LTN flight the seat
I had wouldn't stay in the upright position and one of the toilets was
closed due to a leak.

closed due to a leak.

Was that instead of someone going for a leak?

We had a visit over to the tower this week by some EZY pilots and the
rumour about 4 based busses is in line with what they hinted at.
Unofficially of course.
Apparently the AMS aircraft wa to be used for a Gatwick flight, but
that fell through due to a return aircraft from Gatwick to Glasgow not
being available (for second leg of twice daily).....well if they up the
based ones by one who knows what will materialize !

That's interesting FF. I have always been surprised that EZY hadn't

started flying to Gatwick from GLA.

Expanding on the theme of an airline basing an aircraft at GLA, what
exactly does that mean? Clearly the aircraft flies to/from GLA
exclusivley, are all the crews based locally as well? I presume
maintenance still takes place at the airline's base?

Cheers,

Patrick
