Yep, it's been that 'downhill' since then that GLA serves more International
destinations than the other 3 main Scottish airports combined and handles 8m
+ pax per annum despite PIK.
It is also known as 'Scotland's Gateway' and has flights to North America,
Central America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and quite possibly Asia in
the next few months.
Oh, and I believe it has flights to more UK airports than any other UK
airport never mind Scottish airport, ok?

Great post again Blipmie - those were the days ! Interesting that
amongst the 'vintage' types lurks a Monarch 757. I always thing of the
757 as being quite a modern aircraft. I think Monarch got one of the
first of the production line (G-MONB) closely followed but the early
BA ones.

Merry Chirstmas to all.

Cheers.

I remember waiting in my back garden for the first BA 757 to arrive at GLA
on the shuttle. It seemed amazing at the time compared to the old Tridents
it replaced.

The guy's a joke. Posting crap like this whilst trying to dictate what

people should and shouldn't post. I don't know why we bother to entertain
him any more.

Thanks Central. My first recollection of a 757 was passing through Johnston
en-route Greenacres not long after BA introduced the type on the LHR-GLA
Shuttle, it had just passed over the AC, or is it the GLG? Wink)

My first recollection of the BA 757 was in February or March 1983 on
it's first trip to GLA doing the shuttle service. I nipped away from
school early to catch a look. It was G-BIKB I think ? Now with DHL
and it's name was Windsor Castle. The whole thing was on the news and
I remember being amazed at footage of it's "glass" cockpit. Looking
at pictures of them now in red tail livery, they look bloody ancient.
