GERMANIA EXPRESS, the Berlin based budget operator has confirmed the
introduction of direct daily scheduled flights from August between
Prestwick and the German capital using Fokker 100 aircraft. The
service will initially operate once daily Monday through Friday. The
route is the third from Prestwick to be assisted by the Scottish
Executive Interim Route Development Fund. The first two were Ryanair's
new routes from Glasgow Prestwick to Girona and Skavsta. Prestwick
last week gained the daily Glasgow – Cardiff service from the
International airport and is clearly gaining on its BAA competitor.
Germania is one of Germany's no frills airlines. It operates to 17
European destinations – five in Germany, four in Spain, three in
Austria, two in Switzerland, and it also flies to Salonika, Istanbul
and Tiflis in Georgia. http://www.germaniaairline.de
