rob : did the germans have enough nuclear material for a dirty nuclear
bomb. If so how would they have put it together?

Rob is hardly an impartial party to ask.
And no I don't think they did |

When I Robert at the Old Bold Pilots meeting on Wednesday, he presented
an outline for a book that seemed at least feasible, historically - a
work of fiction concerning a late war encounter between an Me 262 and a
B-24. Part of the story evolves around the German nuclear effort, so I
suggested that he ask his questions here on RAM, specifically to Rob
Arndt. I think Rob would be a good source for the author, and for a
historical fiction story, I think Rob was a good source for the story.

Ah, given that background I would have to agree. I didn't see it asked
in that perspective. |

If you do some research on 'Hechingen' you will find that Heisenberg's
lab there was not nearly as well-equipped as the average college
physics/chemistry installation. As for a neutron multiplication factor
of 7.0 when the 'water boiler' activated by an external neutron source,
please cite the reference; I have never run across it in quite a few
years of exploration.
