Lonny and I saw Gene again this Sunday. He had been transferred out of
Kaiser in S.F. and moved to a rehab facility in Concord during the
week.

They believe they've killed the infection and the next thing is work on
is getting him out of bed and walking again.

When we got there, Gene was sitting up in bed and seemed to have a lot
more energy than last week. When we got there, Lee told me that earlier
in the day, Gene was able to get himself out of bed and into a wheel
chair, and was able to stand straight and walk for a bit with the help
of a walker.

Still a long way to go, but things are definitely looking up.

Fantastic! All recovery starts with just a few steps. It sounds like those
have been made!
