I see it reported that this is one of the routes EZY is planning to give up
this year. Could be win one lose one.

Shame if it happens. BAA must be kicking themselves when they see the EZY
investment elsewhere

This has been known for sometime now, but BAA certainly wont be kicking
themselves if things go according to plan.

And easyjet have the cheek to have a big sign up at GLA saying that it all

started there with first LTN<>GLA flight. I think its about time BAA ripped
that sign down and let someone else have the space

Well if the FlyGlobespan stories are true then this won't be a problem.

And easyJet letting that route go adds credence to the GSM stories. Fingers
crossed for a happy outcome.

Im sorry Gaz and Clive,I dont share your confidence about EZY, GSM or a
Boston service. Been there, read the book , seen the movie, heard the
song and have always been disappointed in the end.

If they do prove to be correct, I hope EZY is more than a once a week
service ala Geneva, that GSM operate the route year round and that
whoever operates the BOS service does go year round and sticks it out
for more than a year!

These things take time. I would expect an announcement from GSM soon as
regards their long haul plans and taking up more of their 49? options
on the 738W.

BOS will happen one day, 2006 or 2007.

As regards EZY, well a deal seems close, personally I don't know what
the reason is but months ago I knew BAA were in talks with them with a
view to finalising atleast a German route, so lets hope something comes
of it.

International traffic has increased by 8% over the past year and BAA
expect this trend to continue next year. So don't be so down, GLA will
continue to add more routes, it already serves over a 100 and we still
want more :P

Quite agree Gaz. David's pessimism seems to imply there is no demand for any
new routes. Either that or he thinks BAA GLA are incompetent.
Now if we are to assume the future predictions for passenger numbers given
in the Masterplan are some way thought out and likely to be attainable even
at the lower end then it stands to reason that many new routes will commence
over the coming years. I see no reason to doubt it.

The latter, I believe they are incompetent.Unless a route falls in
there lap ala EK and US they don't know what to do.

As for LAS and the carribean, again another slam dunk when you consider
where the majority of the population in Scotland is from and most of
the tour companies fly from.

About the only think I could give them a bit a credit for is GSM and at
that GSM had there motives to move from PIK!

MAN,LTN,LPL,EMA, BFS, EDI,NCL,BHX and how do they compare say over the
last 1, 3 and 5 years to Glasgow?
