Gordon's attack on Darling as reported in today's ET
is a disgrace that serves only to show Gordon for the
unprincipled ignoramus he is.

On one hand we have the ET claiming Glasgow to be Scotland's
economic powerhouse. Strange then that they criticise the
economic benefits that could accrue to down-at-heel
Edinburgh and her neighbours from additional runway provision
in the east. Surely they are not driven by greed?

Gordon's hysterical outburst clearly indicates that he has not
bothered to read the Review document produced by Sinclair Knight
Metz and in association with internationally respected companies
such as Ove Arup and Partners. Had he done so, he would know his
current outburst is rooted in ignorance of the many considerations
that played a part in today's White Paper.

The Scottish end will be progressed by Nicol Stephen. As Stephen is
not an Edinburgh MSP, Gordon will no doubt be obliged to manufacture
a smear against him.

I have always maintained that the biggest enemy of Glasgow's
population is the 79 representatives who reside within George Square, the £1
billion public housing debt being but one example. Gordon's hysterical
shrieking today shows that he has still some way to go before he is
ready to dip his toe into the waters of the 20th Century.

BTW..Alastair Darling stated on tonight's news that Glasgow already has two
runways - one at PIK....

Doesn't describe it as poor access as much as Ali Abbassi describes the
poor access at EDI every weekday morning at Turnhouse and most weekends next
summer.

With sufficient runway capacity to take them into the 22nd century...
