Interesting that it confirms what most of us say about "slogs" and
connecting flights ;-)

Good advertising from Emirates also. And a hint they won't begin EDI
flights

Excellent campaign from EK.

It's not just EK, a year or so ago BMI had a huge advert at GLA for
their MAN-ORD flights and just about every other morning what could be
seen behind the billboard, yep, the tail of the American Airlines
767-300 from GLA to ORD ;-)

Not if you kill-file him first. Anyway BAA Edinburgh want to sell prime
advertising space and EK were happy to buy it. Yer man can have no
complaints.

Not necessarily. A hint that this is Edinburgh's chance to prove it would
use the flights if they came to EDI, maybe? ;-)

Eh, what hint?

It seems to be important for Emirates to lure Edinburgh-area pax, it seems
:-)

Seriously though, I think this is a good move by EK. Why not encourage
people to use direct flights from Scottish airports. EasyJet will hopefully
be advertising Scotland-wide for its year-round EDI-GVA service too.

Yes I had sniggered at that a few times. Mind you there were virtually no
spare seats on the direct Scottish flight anyway :-)

Yes, I recall the same BMI ads at EDI.

Well, BAA Edinburgh won't complain if it's getting good money for the ads.
Those bill boards don't come cheap :-)

very good. But of course, not really news, so no change for the evening
rags there. EK have had huge adverts at EDI (including this billboard)
since they started the GLA service.

Isn't that going to be the same 'problem' for Emirates, to an extent? The
direct flight is often full, and I'm sure that will continue to be the case
even after the upgrade to the 773.

A lot of people won't have a choice but to go the "wrong way".

It probably cheered the ET up after a slightly disappointing announcement
yesterday from easyJet, maybe? Wink Wink ;-)
