That would be good as it would probably allow one of the flights to
link with the SYD flight which I believe it doesn't do now, at least
not with a long stop-over that is?

It would sure be nice, but that guy's profile says he is a "student", so I'm
not particularly sure this isn't just another one of these groundless A.net
rumours.

Like somebody else said, if there are extra flights to Scotland from EK I
think they will be to EDI. Even if EK are happy to operate extra GLA
flights, or even if they positively would prefer to do that than start EDI,
you can bet your bottom dollar they will be coming under A LOT of pressure
from the SE to start EDI instead of operating a 2nd daily GLA service.

Your theory sort of puzzles me Iain, it's ok for DLH to operate 3
flights a day to FRA from EDI and there's 5 flights a day to CDG from
EDI yet the Scottish Executive will oppose a 2nd daily flight to DXB?

I cannot see further Scottish services until October 2006 at the
earliest purely on the basis that the Scottish market has already seen
a very large increase in capacity on the route (and presumably the
driving factor for the 773s at GLA was the extra cargo capacity
available rather than shoe-horning pax on to the A330; both MAN and BHX
saw A330s go to 772s in initial bouts of expansion) and to further
flood the market with capacity from the start of the summer season will
lead to a reduction in yield.....they held off the MAN 2nd daily for an
incredibly long period of consistent 90%+ loads so that they could
start to squeeze more yield out of the route.

Its the SE redirection fund.

They really like to tinker about with the long haul routes.

I reckon Iain is right, idiots who nothing about aviation will redirect
the second service to EDI.
