Rumours elsewhere suggest the start of a 2nd daily flight to connect with
the Oz flights at DXB? Anyone heard anything else?

Only if EK have a death-wish? I'm going OZ ex EDI-LHR-SIN along with
thousands
of others.

Perhaps if EK flew EDI-DXB if might be viable.? I would use it along
with those
who currently go use EDI connections ..

Yet again you have managed to change a GLA thread and bring EDI into it. You
really are unbelivable.

OK so that is your opinion. As anti Glasgow as usual. But nonetheless
your opinion.

Good for you! Taking a longer route on long haul is not a good idea,
especially when you do so for "political" reasons. Also, it is nothing
to do with this thread, but it is (I suppose) your right to post
whatever you wish, and to attempt to troll as much as you like.
Thousands though? Do you have a source of figures for those going
EDI-LHR-SIN? I usually travel from Glasgow, are there "thousands" of
people travelling from EDI to OZ each year?

Ahh so your real intent was to introduce a troll into the thread. Pity
you can't afford to fly local in line with your statements.

If EK do start another GLA- DXB frequency, then you will be forgetting that
JC knows (!?) far more about the load factors and statistics than the people
who work for and decide the routes and frequencies of EK. If JC was true
then the flights would have been scrapped and they are obviously not.
The green eyed monster rears its ugly head.
I don't know why I even replied to this post as I swore I would resist such
nonsense, but its very difficult. Knowing a bit about psychology- Im sure
thats what these types thrive on.

No, but the introduction of a second daily flight would be great.

It would connect perfectly with the nonstop SYD flight if its timings
were similar to the second MAN flight.

Trying to get this back on track before it ends up like most other
threads. Can passengers not already connect onto OZ flights in Dubai
from the current times of the GLA flights? Or will putting a evening
flight into operation cut waiting times for connecting passengers? If
they are doing it to cut the waiting time for passengers then they
must have A LOT of passengers wanting to fly from Glasgow to
Australia.

I've not re-checked connection times yet but we've friends going to Oz next
month and they are being put up in an hotel for a few hours before they
catch their connection, remember Oct-April is the peak months for UK-Oz
flights.

I sincerely hope you have nice holiday in OZ. I am sure most of this
newsgroup are very happy to know that you are going so far away.
Singapore are an excellent airline to travel with have used them on
many occasions in the Far East. However Emirates are also an excellent
airline to travel with and unlike other airlines they have come to
Scotland to provide us with a service, please note I used the word
Scotland. I am trying my best not to be too Parochial about this but I
have used Edinburgh on several occasions and had no problems in that.
When you do go and you are sitting in Heathrow between flights just
try and remember it belongs to BAA yes BAA the same company you are
contnually stating is the problem Edi. is not no.1 in Scotland. If you
are evading Glasgow for various reasons of your own why did you not
use Amsterdam. If everbody in Scotland took this attitude none of the
Glasgow international services would survive and none of the Edinburgh
International services would survive. We would all have to travel
through Heathrow just like you are doing, we would have no choice.
Congratulations on your support for Heathrow and adding to the
statistics that help to promote the Scottish airports as feeders for
the London airports, also of course Manchester which you promote very
often. If any members of the BAA london airports management read your
post they will be delighted to know they have such strong support from
yourself and thousands of others. Of course I respect your decision to
fly with any airline of your choice , price, route, timing, favourite
airline. But never Inter-city jealosy. Sorry I am presuming it is
Singapore airlines might be BA. I am considering taking my wife to
Paris this autumn and I am going to use Edinburgh as I prefer to use a
Scottish airport not an Irish airline. Yes if their had been a direct
srevice I would have used Glasgow because I live in Southwest Scotland
and consider Gla. my local airport. I try my best to be Pro Gla and
not Anti Edin. However you might change my mind with more of your Anti
gla.posts.

I think the SYD flight leave DXB before the GLA one arrives. Other Aussie
routes have a few hours lay-over so a later flight from GLA would be more
convenient for Scots going to Oz.

Why the question mark Joe?

Obviously you know better than the Emirates route planning department.
