Continental Airlines is launching the first non-stop schedule transatlantic flight out of Edinburgh next year.

The US carrier will start flying between Edinburgh and New York Newark from June 11 2004.

The Edinburgh service is a daily flight that leaves Edinburgh at 10am and arrives in New York seven and a half hours later at
12.30pm local time. The return flight takes six hours and 35 minutes, leaving New York at 8.25pm, and arriving in Scotland at 8am
the next day.

The flight is being operated by Boeing 757 aircraft, which have 16 Business/First seats and 156 economy seats.

The flight will be year-round and has been timed to arrive in the US to provide convenient connections with other Continental
services to the US, Canada and Latin America.
