Scenario:
I had to pick my brother up at EDI before going to my other brother in
Edinburgh.

Dunoon to Edinburgh:
I didn't time the journey outbound cos I had business in Livingston on the
way and it was Friday evening. The M8's 40 mph road works go all the way
from Baillieston to past EuroCentral and I wasn't going to get caught again!
I still got to EDI early and tried to go to Ingliston. Lots of low cost and
regional flights coming and going and 2 easyJets waiting for stands. I ended
up looking dodgy scouting around for a vantage point in my van so I gave up
and went indoors. The Cardiff flight also arrived early but the baggage took
about 1/2 an hour to come through and shared a belt with 3 other flights.
The general impression of EDI was a thriving airport with lots of happy
travellers and greeters but also tighter security. The short term parking
was difficult but I see the new multi-story looks substancial. Well done
BAA. I always think its a funny design with the horse shoe shape. The
terminal should be extended outwards where the parking is and car parks
re-located elsewhere.

Not for the first time I missed the proper junction at the retail park for
the A71 through Sighthill and Gorgy and got stuck on the by-pass. Had to
take the scenic route through Oxgangs. Is it just me or is that junction
badly signposted?

The night out:
Alas no visit to the Western Bar this time and after a slow start had a good
night out at All Bar One, Mad Dogs and finally Fingers Piano Bar. Apart from
falling down in Fingers and meeting huey it went without a hitch.

Edinburgh to Dunoon:
The journey home on Saturday luchtime took exactly 2 hours 20 miutes from
Bruntsfield including the ferry crossing and a stop for Lucozade Sport and
head ache pills!
