Edinburgh in a nutshell

There is a lot to be discovered in Edinburgh - fantastic castles,
quiet courtyards, magnificent monuments. In Edinburgh you can walk
through history from the Medieval Ages to the 19th century. Despite
the historic ambience, the city presents itself as a lively and
visitor friendly place while it is also famous for its Festivals.

The city never goes to sleep with pubs, clubs and cafes open from
morning to late at night.

Sightseeing - Edinburgh

Sightseeing: The castle in Edinburgh is the number one tourist
attraction: not only is it the national symbol and home to the
Scottish Crown Jewels, it also offers a breathtaking panoramic view
of the city. If you are after modern culture, a visit to the Dean
Gallery is worthwhile. The finest art of the 20th century and a
sculpture park offer pure aesthetic enjoyment. Speaking of parks:
don't miss a visit to one of the famous gardens in Edinburgh.
Malleny Garden features rare roses, 400 year old yews and the
national Bonsai Collection.

Shopping - Edinburgh

Shopping: If you enjoy window shopping and you're looking for the
unusual, then Edinburgh is the right place for you. Instead of the
familiar stores you will find specialty shops and extravagant
displays on the Royal Mile and in Victoria Street. Typically
Scottish things are to be found here: Whisky and wool, local
delicacies and antiques. Maybe you even fancy having a tailored
Scottish kilt made for you? If so, Geoffrey (Tailor) Highland Crafts
Ltd in High Street is your address.

Excursions & activities - Edinburgh

Excursions & Activities: Along the coasts of Edinburgh's Firth of
Forth and in the surrounding areas, will find natural beauty,
magnificent castles and country estates as well as wonderful
gardens. You will be guaranteed peace and quiet whether you prefer
long hikes through the Scottish Highlands or a relaxing picnic on
the beach. Or are you among the golf enthusiasts? Scotland is home
to this sport and undoubtedly offers the world's most exciting, most
difficult and beautiful golf courses. The ride on an original steam
train on the Bo'ness & Kinneil Railway is relaxing and may be the
fulfilment of a childhood dream.
From the airport to Edinburgh

Name: Edinburgh International Airport
Location: approx. 11 kilometres (7 miles) west of Edinburgh
HLX-Terminal: Hapag-Lloyd Express departs and arrives at the main
terminal

Important tip: Security checks at the airports have been sharpened.
We therefore urgently recommend that you are in possession of your
boarding card at the latest 45 minutes in advance of departure,
since long queues can be expected at the security counters.
