Was out at EDI this afternoon, sitting at Ingleston (chance to do some
studying for an exam next week). A real dreary day it was too, absolutely
chucking it down. I just wondered if anyone else was there today?, few cars
came and went, were you one of them?

OK, couple of things for us to chat about.

A/C coming and going as usual today and all taking off on 24, that is until
about 3pm when all of a sudden they started to land and takeoff on 6. How
does this work?, is it to do with wind direction? or does the wee man in the
ATC tower decide "ah, lets bring them in the other way for a laugh".......
just kidding!.

Also one a/c came in to a waiting group of emergency vehicles, didn't seem
anything obviously wrong when it landed and the just followed it along the
taxiway back to the gate..... I've posted a snap in the binaries group
anyway

I was put off by the weather...rather the light...no good taking pics in
semi-darkness..

It's down to wind direction of course jonni...it can change suddenly,
very suddenly,
it's not the first time I have been at Cammo and have had to drive up
to Newbridge
for 06 approaches

Looking forward to seeing it......you are an EDI stalwart, out in this
weather is KEEN...

Actually just realised I can't post to the binaries group (btinternet!!)
so
here is the pic - won't do it again Surprised)

Rather naughty actually doing it on purpose rather than by mistake. It's a
BMA Embraer 145 being followed by the Fire vehicles.
The 3 cars on the left are regulars, I know who they are but I'll let them
reveal themselves, no sign of JC though..

When I got back to the UK I wrote them a letter and they offered me $50
off
another flight with them so long as I travelled within one year.....

If it was the UK, you would need to say two word.... "The Sun"
You soon would have better compensation..

It is Comair a Delta connection, from Cincinnati Ohio, i.e. connected
to/owned by Delta airlines. My flight was with Delta and because not many
people were on the plane they used a small one I presume. Here is a link to
their web site: http://www.comair.com/home/

How does an FF a/c work? How many times do you have to fly to qualify?

You qualify with your first flight...but have to take lots of flights to
get anything
really useful free flight wise....

'Normal' flyers can expect to qualify for lounge access after a few
round UK-USA
flights but the guys who really score are frequent business
flyers...most use their
business flight points to claim annual holiday flights...
