Attractive as Dubai is for shoppers etc, I doubt a good proportion are actually staying there for any length of time . Most are probably just connecting or stopping over. Dubai has a small native catchment area and I suspect EK are attracting most pax from airlines not bold enough to experiment with routes outside their recognised gateways. Thats a £17 saving on EDI flight below probably best for east coasters to come via GLA eh? Bet its great sitting in CDG for a working day, losing a day of your hols in a French airport rather than paying a wee bit more to go direct from a local airport! Don't forget the Euro's for the lunch/dinner/supper at CDG folks.
