u need 2 take the bus to Haymarket or Waverley, the train to Newcastle
then the metro to NCL. very unlikely 2 find direct flights unless there's
a charter doing a stop on the way to cyprus or something.

There used to be an EDI-NCL flight a few years back but it attracted
little custom.

Apparently Newcastle is within easy driving distance of EDI?

As close as GLA & PIK apparently?

Well it used to be apparently. Until easyJet set up at NCL. Then it seemed

to get further away?

Dunno about that. Expect a minimum of 2 hours and probably 2 1/2
depending of any slow lorries on the A68. The train is better, getting
to Newcastle Station in about 1.5 hours. Don't know how long the
metro journey takes. Probably about 20 mins.

NCL is cheaper and quicker than either GLA or PIK....more friendlier too, :-(

Sad when one has to choose an English airport to escape tribalism...

I can shortly see PIK getting further away ;-)

Not according to a certain web site:

"Newcastle 114.7 " " " = 2 1/2
Glasgow Airport 55.0 " " " = 2 hours
Prestwick Airport 74.0 " " " = 2 hours"

GLA is unfriendly? What would you know?

Ah the travel times (yet again). I am suprised that he has not put the bit
about 4hrs by public transport from Edinburgh to GLA on his site.

But he would rather have someone use any other airport in the world than
travel to GLA. Remember the woman who wanted too fly to the Isle of Man, he
had her travelling for hours instead by train and boat rather than tell her
about direct flights from GLA. Bitterness...........no doubt.

Pathetic, if someone from Glasgow said "what's the best and most convenient
way to Prague for a weekend break" on the GLA ng the answer would I'm sure
be - Go to EDI and fly CSA.
Anyone on the EDI ng asking for the best and most convenient routing from
Edinburgh to say the Big Apple would I'm sure be routed via CDG, AMS, FRA,
DUB and Timbucktoo rather than GLA, although I could be wrong...
